Alana Hogan of Gibbs High School won the Broadway Star of the Future Best Performance Award at the regional competition for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards. She will represent the Straz Center at the national competition on June 24. 
The Broadway Star of the Future Awards program is the Tampa Bay area program affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards®.
Alana, who attends the Pinellas County Center for the Arts, was one of the Top 12 Finalists, five of whom were PCS students. This is the seventh winner PCS has had since the program's inception.
This year, the Broadway Star of the Future program reviewed 81 productions from 49 high schools in nine counties. More than 3,000 students participated on stage and behind the scenes.
