Pinellas students win top awards at the National History Day competition

Pinellas students excelled at the National History Day competition. Top awards went to students from Dunedin Highland Middle School and Largo High School. Sixteen PCS students earned the opportunity to compete in the national competition.
First place for Junior Group Performance went to a team from Dunedin Highland Middle. The team's performance was titled "Boston Tea Party of 1773." Team members: Aarush Shah, Liam Jacobs, Matthew Sherrell, Saashiv Gupta, Sahith Popuri
The Equality in History Award for Senior Group Website went to a team from Largo High. Their project was titled "Soweto Uprising." Team members: Diya Dipu Nair, Ellie Kim, Hana Weeks, Tiffany Siev
Dunedin Highland Middle School student, Ritchel Mesidor, was also a finalist (one of the top six in the nation) for his Junior Research Paper, "From Segregation to Strength in Solidarity: The Montgomery Bus Boycott."
