Five PCS students earn National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Students from Pinellas County Schools won five National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Dziyana Rolik, a 10th grader at East Lake High School, won a Gold Medal for her Ceramic & Glass artwork titled, "Suppression Of Emotions.” Four PCS students won Silver Medals in the competition.
The National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition is the nation's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship program for artists and writers in grades 7-12.
The student artworks were selected from thousands of Gold-Key-awarded works from throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Judges used three criteria to adjudicate the artwork: Originality, Technical Skill, and Personal Voice.
