Pinellas County Schools and Pinellas Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA) Reach Tentative Salary Agreement
July 24, 2024
Pinellas County Schools and the Pinellas Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA) are pleased to announce that they have reached a tentative salary agreement for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. In the agreement, the Pinellas County School Board will provide the following to employees covered under this bargaining unit:
- A $.75/hour salary increase for all employees, retroactive to July 1, 2024.
- Board coverage of 80% of the increase in health care premiums.
- Agreed to minor changes in contract language to update the Collective Bargaining Agreement, effective 2024-2027.
“We are pleased to collaborate with PESPA to finalize this preliminary agreement before the school year begins," said Pinellas County Schools Chief Human Resources Officer Paula Texel. “This will allow our employees to receive their increases sooner than in past years. Our schools are successful due to the wonderful work of our support staff and we are very excited for the start of the 2024/2025 school year.”
PESPA President Nelly Henjes added, “PESPA is proud of the accomplishments from our bargaining team in collaboration with Pinellas County Schools. We look forward to a great year.”
PESPA will now take this to their membership for ratification during the week of August 5 and brought to the School Board for consideration on August 21, 2024.
