PCS and PCTA reach a Tentative Agreement for the 2024-2025 school year

Pinellas County Schools and the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association (PCTA) have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) on salary and healthcare for the 2024-2025 school year. The Agreement will go to the entire bargaining unit for ratification before it comes to the School Board for final approval at the Sept. 10 meeting.  

The agreement includes a total salary expenditure increase of approximately $11.4 million:

    • $2,239  increase for employees on the Continuing Salary Schedule (includes referendum increase of $639);
    • $2,639 increase for employees on the Annual Salary Schedule rated highly effective (includes referendum increase of $639);
    • $2,139 increase for employees on the Annual Salary Schedule rated effective (includes referendum increase of $639);
    • A referendum increase of $639 increase for all remaining employees on the Annual Salary Schedule continuing their employment from 2023-2024; and
    • The starting teacher salary will be increased to $54,000. 

The agreement also provides $154,000 to increases to athletic, academic and fine arts supplements. With regard to healthcare, the School Board will pay approximately 80% of the increase in healthcare with employees covering approximately 20% of the increase.  

If fully approved by the Sept. 10 Board meeting, all instructional employees can expect to see their pay increases, including retroactive pay to July 1, 2024, before the end of September.
