Midtown Academy educator is runner up for the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper In Education Teacher of the Year Award

Meredith Myers, a library/media technology specialist at Midtown Academy, was honored as a runner up for the Tampa Bay Times NIE Teacher of the Year Award.
The ceremony took place on Aug. 22 at Junior Achievement Tampa Bay Finance Park in Tampa. She was recognized for creating a newspaper for Midtown Academy with fourth-grade teacher Rae Breon. Myers wants to share the award with Breon.
The annual NIE Teacher of the Year Award recognizes educators who advocate for literacy and civic learning through the use of the Tampa Bay Times and Newspaper in Education materials. Learn more about the award.
