District celebrates 150 at Countywide Graduation
Sept. 3, 2024
Pinellas County Schools celebrated 150 countywide graduates who walked the stage Thursday, Aug. 29 at St. Petersburg High School. The ceremony celebrated summer high school graduates from traditional high schools, adult ESOL students and adults earning a GED or adult high school diploma. Graduates ranged in age from 17 to 70 years old and included two PCS employees who received promotions as a result of earning their degrees.
Executive Director of Career and Technical Education Mark Hunt, School Board Vice Chair Carol Cook and Superintendent Kevin Hendrick were featured speakers in the ceremony.
"I’d like to thank everyone here tonight for supporting our graduates. Whether you are a family member, a friend, a teacher or an administrator, your encouragement played a major role in the success we celebrate tonight," Hendrick said. "And graduates – you worked hard, you persevered. Don’t forget what it took for you to be here tonight."
