Pinellas County Schools recognized at the Florida Music Education Association Conference

Several Pinellas schools and educators were honored for high enrollment and dedicated service at the Florida Music Education Association Conference. The conference was held Jan. 9-11 in Tampa.
The FMEA recognizes and awards schools that demonstrate significant student enrollment in music courses and educators who have dedicated their careers to music education.
Safety Harbor Elementary music educator Carol Carstensen was honored with the Music Education Service Award. She has served as a music teacher for 26.5 years.
Music enrollment awards went to Carwise Middle School with 47% of its students enrolled in music classes, Dunedin Highland Middle School with 50% enrolled, Seminole Middle School with 49% enrolled, and Tarpon Springs Middle School with 77% enrolled. Schools can apply for enrollment recognition every three years.
