PCS students earn top awards in the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts high school exhibit
March 6, 2025
Pinellas students won two of the three top awards in the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts high school exhibit. Seven district students were selected for the Vinik Family Foundation Young Artists Expo, which took place in early March.
Senior Mia Hipolito of East Lake High won for her painting titled "Ship of Theseus," and Dunedin High School 10th grader Kiana Trullu won for her sculpture called "Chord Formation."
Each will receive a $1,000 scholarship and their school’s Visual Arts programs will receive $2,000 from the Vinik Family Foundation.
The Gasparilla Festival of the Arts invited six Tampa Bay school districts to submit top 2-D and 3-D artworks for the Expo.
This is the third year in a row that PCS students have earned two of the top three awards!
