The 2025-25 Winter Academic Team Champions have been announced.
Two PCS teams are Winter FHSAA Academic State Champions. The East Lake High School 6A girls' soccer team and the 1A girls' wrestling team both earned first place. In addition, seven Pinellas County teams finished in the top 5 of their classification.
The FHSAA Academic Team Champion recognition program honors teamwork in the classroom. The program recognizes teams in each of the Association’s sanctioned sports, naming an Academic Team Champion in each classification based on average team grade point averages.
To qualify, teams must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Congratulations to the Academic Team champions and third place winners:
Champions
- Girls Soccer, East Lake, 6A, GPA: 3.826
- Girls Wrestling, East Lake, 1A, GPA: 3.868
Third place:
- Girls Basketball East Lake 6A, GPA: 3.598
- Girls Basketball Osceola, 5A, GPA, 3.78
- Boys Soccer, St. Pete, 5A, GPA: 3.45
- Girls Soccer, Osceola, 6A, GPA: 3.708
