Leadership U grad with Mrs. Long

The Professional Learning department hosted the Leadership U and EmpowerED U graduation ceremony showcase.

The ceremony on March 26 honored 30 employees, including 21 graduates from Leadership U and nine graduates from the brand-new EmpowerED U program.

Leadership U is a comprehensive professional learning program for any PCS employee who is interested in exploring leadership and developing a quality leader focus in their work.

EmpowerED U is a comprehensive professional learning program designed for teacher leaders who want to lead initiatives that bridge the gap between schools, families, and the wider community.

Participants earned their certificates by completing classes that sharpened their skills and by designing and implementing leadership projects aimed at transforming their schools and work sites. Graduates got the opportunity to showcase their projects at the ceremony.

Guests included Superintendent Kevin Hendrick, School Board Chairperson Laura Hine, School Board Member Eileen Long, and Chief Human Resources Officer Michael Vigue.

Leadership U was facilitated by Professional Learning Senior Coordinators Karen Collier and Lisa Brackney, and EmpowerED U was facilitated by Collier and Strategic Partnerships Senior Coordinator Deneen Wyman.
