Students honored for overcoming challenges at the 40th Annual Turnaround Achievement Awards
April 30, 2025
The 40th Annual Turnaround Achievement Awards ceremony recognized 54 students who have successfully improved their grades, behavior and attitudes, or have overcome substance-dependence issues.
The Turnaround Achievement Awards breakfast took place on Wednesday, April 30, at Banquet Masters in Clearwater. Middle and high school administrators and staff members nominated students who have achieved significant turnarounds. At the breakfast, they shared many amazing stories.
One student who was challenged by behaviors owns a landscaping business and plans to go to college to set his plan in motion. Another who frequently visited the school office is channeling his energy into track and field. And, yet another who was chronically absent and made consistent poor grades, has excellent attendance and is earning nearly straight A's.
Sponsors for the Turnaround Awards breakfast include the Krauss family’s Seminole & Sunrise Lanes and Regions Bank-Private Wealth Management. The awards were established by Gerald "Jerry" Krauss, who passed away in March.
