    New Roles and Responsibilities Include:

    • Content Creator course
    • Skilled-facilitator micro-credential
    • Coordinate and analyze a school-based professional learning needs assessment
    • Partner with administration on planning, organizing, and implementing school-based professional learning (including Strategy Walks)
    • Serve on SBLT
    • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of school-based professional learning via EOC surveys in PLN
      • Professional Learning Champions will get the micro-credential and support the planning and implementation of school-based professional learning needs.
Strategy Walks Logo
  • Strategy Walks are non-evaluative classroom visits aimed at observing and learning from each other's use of a specific strategy. They should follow the introduction of a new strategy in professional learning sessions and result in a diverse collection of ideas for implementation. Teachers have the opportunity to “browse, borrow, and build” from one another in job-embedded professional learning.

In February 2024, Principals were surveyed about the implementation of Strategy Walks at each school. Based on the survey results, observations began to gather resources and materials to assist the implementation of Strategy Walks through the creation of a Strategy Walk Playbook.

Teacher Leaders interested in supporting Strategy Walks at their school can collaborate with the Professional Learning Coordinator and school leaders/ the Professional Learning department to develop and implement a plan for job-embedded, teacher-led professional learning.
