  • Emmy Awards
    In 2009, WPDS-TV14 achieved their first ever Emmy nomination for the Countdown to Super Bowl XLIII-Super Bowl for Students program. The program featured five Pinellas County high school student's ten-day adventure as they experienced Super Bowl XLIII. This special edition showed the many ways Pinellas County students and teachers were involved in the event from marching bands, academics, athletics, culinary arts and even the half-time show with Bruce Springsteen. Amanda Borges, Tarpon Springs High; Elena Halpren, Osceola High; Aneta Kozub, Countryside High; Sarah Myers, Seminole High and Camille York, Northeast High were the student hosts of the program.

  • Telly Awards
    Since 2007, WPDS-TV14 has won eleven internationally acclaimed Telly Awards for student oriented local productions. In 2017, Science Rocks won the coveted Silver Award of Excellence for Educational television programming. These productions were judged against more than 13,000 entries from some of the most respected production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate/educational video production departments in the world.

  • Communications Award Communicator Award
    Since 2001, WPDS-TV14 has won ten Award of Excellence and Award of Distinction recognitions from the international Academy of the Visual Arts. In 2014, Science Rocks won the Award of Distinction for Educational Programming

  • Hermes Hermes Awards
    In 2007, the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals awarded WPDS-TV14 the Hermes Creative Award for the 2007 Outstanding Educator program and the 2006 Bandmasters Marching Music Festival. These programs were judged against 3,500 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries. The Hermes Creative Award is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media.

  • Videographer Awards Videographer Awards
    The Videographer Awards is a 12-year-old independent international awards competition, designed to recognize excellence in video productions, TV commercials/news/programs and new media. Ch. 14 received the Award of Excellence for Digital Learning and the dress code video. Student Measures and the Outstanding Educator Awards program won Awards of Distinction. And, for the second consecutive year, WPDS-TV14’s weekly sports highlights program, Friday Night Hi-Lights, received an honorable mention.
