There is not a fee for students to attend this workshop, but there are expenses. Please honor your commitment to attend. No-shows reflect poorly on your school and yourself.

String, woodwind, and brass players must bring their instrument(s). Percussionists should bring their stick bag. All students should bring their music, a willingness to learn, and an open mind to new adventures.

Gibbs High School requires that all students participating in the audition workshop dress according to Pinellas County Dress Code. PCCA recommends that students wear what they plan to wear for the audition. They will receive feedback on it, and get to practice, play, and perform the audition music multiple times wearing that outfit. Pro-tip: Business casual is appropriate: classy, conservative, and comfortable. Workshop staff will address issues of inappropriate dress on an individual basis.

Students are encouraged to bring cell phones to the workshop. They may be used as tuners, metronomes, and recording themselves playing. Students should not make or receive calls, texts, or use social media during workshop activities. They may use it during the breaks. If a student violates this policy, their phone will be confiscated and placed in a charger in plain sight until the conclusion of the workshop. Gibbs High School is not responsible for the loss of these items.

Illnesses should be reported to the Director immediately. Your medical release form is important to our efforts to provide you with medical assistance in the unlikely event of an emergency. If medical attention is needed, an Emergency Room or Immediate Care Clinic will be used at student expense. Parents will be contacted immediately.

The use or possession of alcohol, tobacco, vape pens, pods, or other illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Any student found in the possession or under the influence of these substances will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents, or the student’s school.

Students are expected to respect the rights and safety of others. Weapons of any type are strictly prohibited at Gibbs High School. Any person found in the possession of an item used as weapon or exhibiting irresponsible behavior that endangers the health, safety, or welfare of him/herself or others will be sent home from the workshop without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents, or the student’s school.

A light snack will be provided at the mid-morning break.
Students should eat breakfast before arriving at the school.
Please let us know about food allergies on the registration form.
