• The Northeast Automotive Technology Education Center (NATEC) gives high school students an opportunity to learn about and prepare for college careers. Below is a complete listing of the classes and curriculum base that is offered within the academy.


    Automotive Collision: Repair and Refinishing Portfolio

    Prerequisite: must be taken in order.

    Grade Level: 9-12, Length: 1-4, Years Credit: 1-8

    Course # 8709010-90
    The purpose of this course is to prepare students for employment as auto body repairers, automotive painters, automotive body repairer-helpers and car renovators. The content includes but is not limited to refinishing skills, sheet metal repair, related welding and estimating skills. This course may be taken in one or more multi-hour blocks of time.

    Automotive Service Technology

    Prerequisite: must be taken in order

    Grade Level: 9-12, Length: 1-4, Years Credit: 1-12

    Course # 8709410-90
    The purpose of this course is to prepare students for employment as automotive mechanics, front end mechanics, tune-up mechanics, brake mechanics, and automobile mechanics. The content includes but is not limited to minor engine repairs, servicing automotive components, troubleshooting skills, repair and overhaul of brake systems. This course may be taken in one or more multi-hour blocks of time.

    Industrial Cooperative Education OJT

    Prerequisite: Current enrollment in an Industrial Education course, instructor’s approval. Grade Level: 11-12, Length: 1-2 Years Credit: 2 per year, Course # 8700400
    The purpose of this course is to provide occupational training in an employment setting. A student may take this course for one or more semesters. A student may earn up to two credits per year in this course. The specific student performance standards that the student must achieve to earn credit must be listed on the OJT training plan.

    Industrial Education Directed Study

    Prerequisite: May be taken only after completing secondary Industrial Education Grade Level: 11-12, Length: Varies

    Credit: Multiple Course # 87001000

    The purpose of this course is to provide students with additional experiences in an Industrial Education course that will enhance their opportunities for employment in the occupation chosen by the student.
