College and Career Parent Night: Thursday, January 17th at 6PM. Parents of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will receive information on next year’s class schedule options, dual enrollment classes, AP classes, early college and early admissions information, credit/GPA recovery opportunities, college application information, and financial aid/scholarship information. 9th and 10th grade families will meet in the auditorium and 11th grade families in the cafeteria.
12th grade families will have the opportunity to complete the FAFSA in the media center from 5-8PM. Parents please bring photo identification and your previous year’s tax records as you will need these records to help you complete the process.
Shadowing for 2018-2019: If you are considering one Northeast's four career academy application programs for 2019, shadowing is a great way for an 8th grade student to experience a day in the life of a Viking academy student. This day can be instrumental in helping a student determine which academy program is right for him or her by providing an “insider’s” point of view to prepare them for college and career. Contact Mrs. Faustino, email@example.com to make an appointment. Shadowing begins October 22, 2018.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be distributed on the following dates: October 26th, January 18th, March 22rd, and June 7th (the final report card will be available for pick up in the front office).
Northeast Exchange Club - Youth of the Month
Our Youth of the Year program recognizes several of our areas most outstanding youth who are high school seniors. Monthly winners are selected from Northeast High School senior class. Students must submit a completed application and resume to a screening committee for consideration of this award.
The selection is based on academics, leadership, school activities and community service. A male and a female will be selected and recognized each month.
The monthly winners are honored with a recognition luncheon at Carrabba’s, 1951 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. Students will be invited along with their parents to an Exchange luncheon to share their experiences and recognitions and then be provided a personalized certificate and a gift card. Northeast Exchange will invite a student to be recognized the third Tuesday of each month through April unless changed on the school calendar.
At the conclusion of the school year, all the winners will have an opportunity to apply for the Youth of the Year Award. Each student creates an essay on a topic furnished by the National Exchange Club along with additional criteria on school activities, grades and community involvement. The winner is presented with a personalized certificate and a scholarship. In addition, the winner will have an opportunity to compete as a senior for additional scholarship awards at the district, state and national levels.
