    Wrestlers Celebrate Late Grappler

Ten years ago Peter Barker, a former DHS student, wrestler, and member of the JROTC program, passed away in an ATV accident. A few years later we began the Peter Barker Memorial Invitational wrestling tournament. The purpose of the tournament was to honor Peter’s memory, his love for the military, and wrestling.

This year, the Falcon wrestlers honored him in good fashion by earning a second place team trophy, and with nine of our wrestlers earning top honors. Julian Sevilla and Jakub Stetz both earned 6th place medals. Hunter Gast broke into the top four with a 4th place medal. Stephen Nicholls, Brendan Ditro, Thomas Bujalski, and Anthony Siegrist all finished with silver medals and 2nd place. Grant Cardwell and Robby Washam led the way, earning gold medals.

Peter’s memory, and recognition for his mother and all of the military personnel past and present were honored before the finals in Falcon fashion with a three clap.
