On Saturday morning, March 17th, the DHS AVID students cleaned up the beach. All were wearing their DHS AVID shirts and proudly representing both DHS and the AVID program. Thank you to the students for the time and energy and especially to the AVID teachers for teaching them the value of service to their community.
AVID is a regularly scheduled elective class serving students in grades 9-12 at Dunedin High School. Students receive academic instruction in writing, note taking, studying, test taking and organization. Students receive academic support from tutors through collaborative groups and peer counseling. Students are motivated to pursue academic excellence through cultural and college field trips, classroom guest speakers and AVID team building.
