To earn recognition in this competition as a teenager is a significant artistic achievement!The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12. The Pinellas County Art Region is an official affiliate of the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers in New York City. In their 101-year history, the Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists, such as Andy Warhol, Zac Posen, Robert Indiana, Cy Twombly, Ken Burns, Robert Redford, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, and Amanda Gorman.

But our students responded well, as we've come to expect.The Visual Metaphor HS Exhibition at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art in Tarpon Springs will be on display from October 28 to December 10. On Thursday, November 9, the museum will host a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. An awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.The Word & Image HS Exhibition "The Hero I Know" at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg will be on display from October 23 to November 28.
