Week of 10/26/25
Good afternoon, Falcon Families, this is Principal Kiblinger calling.
Last week was a big testing week for our seniors, and this week is another big testing week as we administer the PSAT/NMSQT test to 9th grade on Tuesday, 11th grade on Wednesday, and 10th grade on Thursday. Each testing session will begin at 7:25 a.m. during 1st period.
Our fall athletic teams continue to have busy postseason schedules, while tryouts for boys’ and girls’ basketball will begin tomorrow, Monday. Yesterday, our girls’ district runner-up volleyball team ended their postseason run with a hard-fought regional game at Lemon Bay High School.
Both our boys’ and girls’ golf teams will begin their postseason play on Monday with an early a.m. tee-off at each of their district’s courses.
Our bowling teams were terrific in district play on Tuesday with the girls finishing 4th in districts and the boys finishing 2nd—earning a state playoff spot starting Tuesday in Orlando.
Our cross-country teams did outstanding in their district performances, with the girls finishing 3rd and the boys 4th. Both top finishers set new school records, and both teams achieved personal bests for their overall team times!
And our boys’ and girls’ swim and dive teams also had strong district showings this weekend, with the boys bringing home the District Runner-Up trophy for the 4th consecutive year.
Football, cheer, and band had a great Senior/Alumni Night on Friday, with a big 50–6 win over Anclote! They’ll close out the season at home this Thursday with our annual Pink-Out Game (Flyer Attached) against Palm Harbor.
Our Highlander Marching Band continues to shine, as they had an impressive performance at the Tarpon Springs Music Festival, bringing home a 3rd place finish.
Please continue to keep our students in your thoughts and prayers as our injured student in last week’s bike accident remains in critical but stable condition.
As always, continue to use extra caution when traveling to and from school. It will stay darker each morning until our time change next weekend, and this is for all drivers, bikers, walkers, and bus riders.
Please have a safe and enjoyable week as we prepare for the upcoming trick-or-treat weekend—and as always, GO FALCONS!
