Our students walk, ride and drive to and from school every day. While walking, we ask our students to use the crosswalk, and wear light-colored clothing when it's dark. Pay attention to your surroundings. While riding your bicycle or skateboard, always wear a helmet. Use front and rear lights on your bicycle. The Dunedin High School resource Deputies can supply your student with a bicycle light. Watch for vehicles because they may not be watching out for you.Did you know that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens? In 2013 more than 2600 teen drivers were involved in fatal crashes. 55% of teens killed in crashes were not wearing a seat-belt. Buckle up. Every trip, every time, it’s the law. More than 150 people were killed in crashes involving distracted teen drivers. Put it down. One text or call could wreck it all. Stop speeding before it stops you.The Pinellas County Sheriff’s office is dedicated to our students safety.
