"To develop and maintain systems of accounting and internal control to satisfy the district's obligations in an accurate and timely manner; and to efficiently record, summarize, and report the results of financial activities."
Welcome to the Pinellas County Schools' Accounting Department web page. An average of 700 checks are issued weekly and the department functions as the district's "cashier", processing all incoming funds, and handling the district's accounts receivable.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the District School Board of Pinellas County by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for 2021-2022. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.View the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report 2022-2023 ACFR (PDF)An award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been presented to the Finance Department staff who are primarily responsible for preparing the ACFR.
