BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
The Battle of the Books, a motivational reading quiz show, has been widely used across the United States. It can be traced back to a public radio program aired in Chicago during the 1940’s. More recently, the Battle of the Books has gained nationwide popularity.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA AWARDS
This annual event encourages students to communicate through media production. Students experience a positive educational learning experience as they create their video production. Beginning with the district competition, student-created video productions are eligible for further competitions with the possibility of national and international exposure and awards.
The mission of Pinellas Association of Library Media/Technology Specialists (PALMS) is to support school library media/technology specialists through advocating leadership and professionalism facilitating collaboration and promoting information literacy. As a result, PALMS annually recognizes outstanding library media/technology and principals who support the ideals of the profession.
