Prekindergarten Programs for Children Ages 3, 4 and 5

    Applications for the 2026–27 school year are now open until 5:00pm on December 9, 2025

    *If your student is currently enrolled in PreK3 with Pinellas County Schools, they will automatically have a seat for VPK at their current school site. If you would like to apply for a spot at a different school for the 2026-2027 school year, please submit a new online VPK application for next year before 5:00pm on December 9, 2025.

    In early 2026, current PreK3 families will receive information to apply for the VPK certificate of eligibility with the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County and a link to pay the registration fee online.

    PK3 (For 3-Year-Olds) How to apply for PK3

    • For children who are 3 years old on or before September 1
    • Encourages creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction
    • Integrates academic concepts through hands-on activities
    • Daily routines that build confidence and independence
    • Programs available at most elementary schools across Pinellas County
    • Full school day tuition-based program
    • On-site before and after school care available through community partners

     

    VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten for 4-Year-Olds) How to apply for VPK 

    • For children who are 4 years old on or before September 1
    • Free three hour program with an option to extend to the full school day
    • Hands-on, play-based learning aligned with Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards
    • Encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking
    • Focus on early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills
    • Programs available at most elementary schools across Pinellas County
    • On-site before and after school care available through community partners
