Dave Harrison
Officer Harrison is a product of the Pinellas County school system. He graduated from Largo High School in 1976 and St. Petersburg College in 1978. Officer Harrison has been in law enforcement in Pinellas County since 1979 and joined the Pinellas County Schools Police Department in 2004.
Officer Harrison is a training instructor and a high liability instructor in firearms, Taser, non-lethal weapons and defensive tactics. He is instrumental in maintaining the proficiency of a police department whose average experience level is more than 25 years. He teaches recruits and continuing education classes at Pinellas County Schools Police Department and the police academy. Officer Harrison is a court certified firearms expert.
Officer Harrison is the department armorer and a K-9 handler for Roo, our gun detection dog. Officer Harrison and Roo search schools for hidden firearms and ammunition. He assists other police agencies on request. Officer Harrison has been married for 25 years and has an adult son.
