Adam Baker came on board with the schools’ police in July of 2018. He recently retired from the Springfield Township Police Department after 26 years of service. His time there was spent in the patrol division with additional duties including Firearms Instructor, Armorer, Community Policing Bike Patrol, and Major Incident Response Team Member (MIRT).

 As a MIRT member Officer Baker assisted the Secret Service security detail during the Presidential Campaign of the late Senator John McCain & Governor Sarah Palin. Officer Baker also while with MIRT participated in various public safety events covering such events as the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies World Series Celebration.

 Prior to joining the Springfield Twp. Police Department in 1992, Officer Baker was an Adult Probation/Parole Officer from 1989 to 1992. He is also a former United States Marine and served from 1985-1989 on active duty and finished his reserve commitment in June 1993. During active duty, he was stationed in the Pacific for a combined time of 21 months. He was chosen to MC the 1986 Marine Corps Ball held at San Miguel Naval Communications Station, Republic of the Philippines. He was trained to be a counselor in the NADSAP program, Naval Alcohol & Drug Substance Abuse Program.

 Officer Baker is a 1984 graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia., PA with a BA in Criminal Justice.  He received his Ordination as a Reverend in November 2017 and was a youth leader with his church in PA prior to moving to Fla. He is currently active with his new church at Madeira Beach.

He is married to Violeta Baker. They have been married for the last 31 years, and they have two adult children and two grandsons.

 Officer Baker feels blessed to be an SRO with Pinellas County Schools Police and has a strong focus on being a mentor to young people.
