Officer Greg Ferguson is a home-grown product of the Pinellas County Schools. He attended Maximo Elementary, Bay Point Middle School, and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1983. Upon graduation he attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.
Officer Ferguson returned to Pinellas County in 1990 where he entered the police academy at St. Petersburg College. He gained employment with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office where he held several assignments. Officer Ferguson completed 21 years of continuous service while serving in field training, patrol operations, civil process, evictions, and 11 years as a school resource officer. Officer Ferguson officially retired from the Sheriff’s Office in 2011. Officer Ferguson rejoined the law enforcement field with the Pinellas County Schools Police Department in 2019.
