Varner Webb

School Resource Officer Varner Webb has served as a Pinellas County Schools Police SRO since July 2022. From 2018 to 2022, he served the department as a Safety Security Officer (SSO). While working full-time as an SSO, he sponsored himself through the police academy in Dade City.

Officer Webb is a native of Senatobia, Mississippi. He currently lives in Palmetto, Florida, with his wife, Trina. They have seven children and four grandchildren. He graduated from Coldwater High School, Southwestern Christian College (Bible & Religious Education), and Pasco-Hernando State College (Basic Recruit Training Certificate).  

He was conferred an honorary doctorate by Ohio Valley University. In 2007, the Ohio Valley University president announced a scholarship in honor of Varner's dedicated leadership and moral support to the community’s youth and education.

In 2012, he relocated to the Tampa-St. Petersburg area after living many years in the Washington D.C./Maryland/Virginia area, where he was heavily involved in his community and church. Varner continued his commitment to providing positive leadership for a safe community. He is dedicated to ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for young scholars and everyone who works and interacts with them daily to positively impact the lives of our youth. Varner also serves as pastor of the New Harvest Church of Christ in Tampa.
