Officer Kurt Rodriguez is a lifelong resident of Pinellas County. He is a product of the Pinellas County School system as he graduated from Seminole High School in 1987. After high school, he attended St. Petersburg junior college and then went on to attend the police academy in Central Florida. Ofc. Rodriguez began his law enforcement career at the Clearwater Police Department in 1996. While at the Clearwater Police Department, Ofc. Rodriguez was assigned to several specialized units within the department which included Field Training Officer, Patrol Sex Crime Investigator, School Resource Officer, Emergency Response Team member and three different neighborhood community policing teams. Ofc. Rodriguez was honored to receive the Joseph F. Cornelius award recognizing him as Clearwater’s officer of the year in 2004. He retired from the Clearwater Police Department in 2023 after 27 years of service. He feels blessed to now be serving as an SRO with the Pinellas County Schools Police as of 2023. Officer Rodriguez lives in Seminole with his beautiful wife and two kids.
