Officer Niles was born and raised in Tampa. He graduated from Tampa Bay Technical Institute and started his law enforcement career at the Zephyrhills Correctional Institute.
He joined the St. Petersburg Police Department in 1981 and worked there for 33 years. While at the department, he worked in all three districts of the city. He assisted in training of employees and served in several other divisions. He also was a School Resource Officer at Southside Fundamental, Thurgood Marshall, Gibbs High and Northeast High schools The last school he was assigned to was John Hopkins Middle School.
Officer Niles joined the Pinellas County School Police in January 2014. He hopes he will be with this agency for many years to come.
