Glenn McKiel

School Resource Officer Glenn McKiel is a former police chief who came to Schools Police after a 30-year police career in Massachusetts, where he served as a patrol officer, investigator, juvenile officer, court prosecutor, field training officer, motorcycle officer, division commander and sergeant. He served his last 14 years in the department as chief of police.  

Officer McKiel has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management and Planning.

He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, Quantico, Va.; the D.E.A.- Drug Unit Commander Academy, Quantico; and the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police – Command Officer Training Program. 

Officer McKiel taught Criminal Justice in the Massachusetts College System for 23 years as an associate professor and taught in the Massachusetts Police Academy programs at the recruit and in-service levels. 

Officer McKiel lives in Pinellas County with his wife and their rescue dogs. He is committed to the safety, security and success of the students of Pinellas County Schools.
