Camp Invention for English Learners

  • This hands-on, collaborative camp from the National Inventors Hall of Fame gives students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving powers. Activities range from exploring electromagnetic waves as they assemble their very own receiver and transmitter and are given secret messages in Morse code; exploring special effects in the entertainment industry and entrepreneurial principles and crafting marketing strategies to pitching their arcade ideas to hook investors and secure funding for their claw arcades. They unleash design thinking to create flippers and launchers that propel their own plush penguin across the South Pole and beyond, delivering penguin‑and planet-saving messages. No matter what's on the agenda, students are engaged and on the move!

Camp Invention is for students entering grades 3-5 and by invitation only for Hispanic and ESOL students and students enrolled in a gifted or talented program in the current school year.

Note: Participation is by invitation only. Limited seats.

Check out the Camp Invention flyer to discover all new adventures!
