We are a silver award school! Healthier Generation Website Highland Lakes Elementary Leadership Academy is proud that we received the Silver Award from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation in June 2019. The goal of the Alliance is to reduce the nationwide prevalence of childhood obesity and to empower children nationwide to make healthy lifestyle choices. To earn the National Recognition award, Highland Lakes improved its nutrition services and physical activity programs to meet or exceed stringent standards set by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation Healthy Schools Program. The Healthy Schools program provides expert advice and resources to more than 14,000 schools nationwide to help them reverse the childhood obesity epidemic. Schools are eligible for Bronze, Silver or Gold National Recognition based on their level of achievement. We are working once again to meet the requirements to continue our silver status.
