Referendum - Teachers
-
The Pinellas County Schools Referendum has created a more competitive salary structure for teachers, helping the school district recruit and retain quality teachers.
- Eighty percent of the Referendum revenue supplements teacher salaries.
- For the 2022-2023 school year, each teacher will receive a salary supplement of $5,734 as part of their base salary.
- Teachers are honing their talents and gaining new skills through Referendum-funded training.
- Training opportunities include sessions to prepare teachers to properly use and integrate technology, literacy advancement training, Advanced Placement Art Studio training, more than 15 specialized visual arts teacher trainings, and sessions by the Florida Art Education Association, Florida Music Educators Association and the Florida Association of Theatre Educators.
Research shows that ongoing professional development positively impacts student achievement.
Referendum resources, including a salary supplement, increased training opportunities, and high-quality music and art programs, help the Pinellas County School District attract the best teachers. Each week, we highlight one of our many Inspiring Teachers in our PCS IT Factor series.
