Children's Village

  • The Principal’s Multicultural Advisory Committee celebrates Black History Month annually with the Children’s Magical Village.

This year it took place at the Pinellas County African American History Museum the former historic Robinson Challenge School in Clearwater. More than 75 students took part from Belleair, Blanton, Maximo, and McMullen Booth elementary schools.

Throughout the years, the museum has been used as a valuable resource that gives students around the district a chance to learn about the African-American culture. During their time there, students participated in community building activities led by Clearwater High School PMAC student leaders, learned from Professor Randy Lightfoot about the cultural heritage of Pinellas county and the Civil Rights Movement. Also, students took part in cross curricular art activities related to African American heritage.
