    Big ideas become the next big thing at Camp Invention! Creative problem-solving meets the 21st Century in this program from the National Inventors Hall of Fame. This invitation-only hands-on camp is co-run by the ESOL and Gifted departments.


    Dates of Program: Week 1 (July 5 – 8), Week 2 (July 11 – 14), or Week 3 (July 18 – 21) 

    (Students attend 1 week)

    Location: 3 elementary school sites: Dunedin Elementary (north county), Ponce De Leon Elementary (mid county), and Lakewood Elementary (south county)

    Grade Levels: Rising 3rd, 4th and 5th graders

    Selection Process: Invitation only to Hispanic/ English Learners, Gifted and Talented students. Applications for Camp Lottery and then selected students

    Program Cost:  Cost for students - $120. Families with demonstrated need will be charged a reduced fee of $10 upon registration. Demonstrated need is based on the students’ free or reduced lunch fee eligibility status in the student’s Focus profile. Reduced fees funded by Javits Grant - Gifted, Title 3 - ESOL, Teaching and Learning Funds.

    Transportation Provided: Transportation is not provided and must be arranged by the student’s family.

    Meals Provided: Yes

    Additional Information: Camp will serve 300 students each week, 100 students per site. It is by invitation only.
