Beyond the Classroom

  • Beyond the Classroom provides a variety of online educational activities for students. Beyond the Classroom and a related initiative Connect for Success — A Title I Digital Enterprise support learning outside of the classroom. Students are encouraged to continue these activities before or after the school day from home.

     Khan Academy offers practice excercises, instructional videos and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at thier own pace in and outside of the classroom. Creating an account is easy. Parents of students in grades 9-12, go to the Khan Academy website and click on the Parents, start here button. Complete the registration. You will get an email with directions for creating your Khan Academy account. Parents of students in K-8 can log in through Clever @ Home.

    Typingweb is a free online typing tutor for students in K-12 & keyboarding program for all skill levels. This program includes typing games, typing tests and a certificate for completion. All students should spend at least 15 minutes each day practicing their keyboarding skills.

  • Istation Istation is an online program that strengthens reading skills knowledge through engaging, interactive content in a game-like format. To extend your learning beyond the school day students can access Istation from home. The expectation for students in grades K-2 is to spend a minimum of 30 minutes per week and for students in grades 3-5 a minimum of 60 minutes per week.

    Students in grades K-5: This is a program for students at Title I schools that are in the Promise Time Program for the 2017-2018 school year. Students are to continue working on i-Ready at home using their i-Ready login on the iReady log-in page. If a student is not enrolled in a Title I school or in Promise Time their PCS usernames and passwords will not work. If you are not sure what your student's password is for i-Ready, please check at their school.
     
     
    Students in grades 6-8: If your student is enrolled in a class that is using i-Ready, they can continue to work at home. Students in grades 6-8 can log in through Clever @ Home and not through the above link.
