Vision

The vision of the STEM Academies is to increase STEM opportunities for Pinellas County students.  The intent of this increased exposure to STEM is for students to enroll themselves in accelerated STEM courses as they progress through middle and high school.

Mission

The mission of the STEM Academies is to offer students’ opportunities to conduct hands-on STEM investigations, explore careers in STEM, improve team building and leadership skills, learn about business planning and interact with community partners.

2017 PCS STEM Summer Camp Enrollment Now Open!
STEM Summer Camps are for students that attend schools operated by the Pinellas County School District entering 4th-7th grades during the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.  Camp will be held at 4 different locations (same content taught each week).  Camp fee is ONLY $150 for 4 days (Monday-Thursday), 8:00-3:30.  Campers will be immersed in STEM through the process of using the K-12 PCS STEM Department Engineering Design Model, hands-on building, creating inventions and much more!  Content taught by trained PCS STEM Academy teachers who are full-time classroom educators. 2017 STEM Summer Camp Flyer and Application
4th Annual Pinellas County School STEM Expo

STEM Honors Summer Camp (Students entering 8th grade during the 17-18 school year)
This is a 2 week (8 day) camp where students will be engaged in robotics, computer programming, mutli-media and STEM career exploration. STEM Honors Summer Camp Flyer and Application 
2016-2017 K-12 STEM Academy Student Application Process
If you are interested in enrolling your Pinellas County public school child into one of the STEM Academies, now is the time to apply. The PCS STEM Academies start the 1st week in October and run through the last week in April.  Space is limited to only 20 students per STEM Academy and wait lists will be available.  Please use the attached STEM Academy matrix to see what schools offer academies and how many academies per school.  If you are interested in applying, please contact the STEM Academy teacher (at your child's school) to receive an application which will contain specific details to the individual school/STEM Academy. Primary STEM Academies are for 2nd/3rd grade students, intermediate STEM Academies are for 4th/5th grade students, middle grades STEM Academies are for 6th-8th grade students and high school STEM Academies are for 9th-12th grade students.   K-12 STEM Matrix
