Eileen M. Long was elected to the School Board in 2016. Mrs. Long is a graduate of Seminole High School. She earned her degree in Special Education from the University of South Florida and has added Reading and ESOL to her teaching certificate. Prior to her election to the School Board, Mrs. Long’s teaching career spanned 34 years. She began her career in Hillsborough County and has served as an educator in Pinellas County Schools for 32 years. She has spent her entire teaching career in middle schools, teaching students with special needs and in dropout prevention programs. She was a Varying Exceptionality Specialist for nine years. She taught at several schools in Pinellas, most recently teaching at Clearwater Intermediate. Mrs. Long has served as PTSA secretary and Ways and Means co-chairperson for the International Baccalaureate Boosters at Palm Harbor University High School and is actively involved in the League of Women Voters of North Pinellas. Her husband, Robert, is a math teacher at Osceola Middle School. Mrs. Long and her husband have lived in Dunedin for 18 years. They have two children who attend Pinellas County Schools.
