Power Up Learning

  • As we begin the new school year, there is an important update about student cell phone use. Starting July 1, 2025, a new Florida law—House Bill 1105—requires all elementary and middle school students to keep their cell phones and wireless devices out of sight and unused during the entire school day (from bell to bell).

This means that even if a teacher previously allowed phones for educational activities, that is no longer permitted. The goal is to reduce distractions and create a more focused learning environment for all students.

Exceptions are still in place for students with:

    • An Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
    • A 504 Plan
    • A medical plan
    • Or in the case of emergencies

If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the school office directly. We appreciate your support as we Power Up Learning and Power Down Distractions—together, we’re building a respectful and engaging school experience for every student.
