Arts for Life! Senior Scholarship Opportunity

- creative writing
- dance
- drama
- music
- visual art
Application Period:
The 2024-25 application period deadline is February 11, 2025.
Eligibility:
High school students who are graduating from a public, private, or virtual school or a home education program in Florida during the current academic year.

Arts Stars Scholarship Competition (for Juniors & Seniors)
Posted by PreK-12 Visual Arts Department on 11/19/2024 2:15:00 PMTampa Bay Business Coalition for the Arts (Tampa Bay BCA) annually awards six or more scholarships to Tampa Bay area high school students with exceptional talents in instrumental and vocal music, theater, dance, visual and literary arts.
The program was founded in 2008 by the late Charlie Hounchell, a former president of Tampa Bay BCA. It was later renamed in his honor. Tampa Bay BCA has awarded over $255,000 in financial tuition assistance to more than 96 Tampa Bay area students, the majority from public high schools.

2025 ArtEffect Student Art Competition (6-12 Grades)

- Choose an individual from the pre-approved list of LMC Unsung Heroes.
- Read the competition rules and guidelines for eligibility and submission information. View the judging rubric for insights on scoring.
- Artworks in multiple 2D & 3D mediums are accepted. There are new 2025 Spotlight Prizes for 3D and large format. Follow the Impact Statement Outline for structuring the accompanying essay (500-1000 words).
- Submit your project through the online portal by the deadline of April 27, 2025.
- Review student FAQs for commonly asked questions.

EEOC Student K-12 Art Contest
Posted by PreK-12 Visual Arts Department on 10/31/2024 10:00:00 AMThe U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is inviting K-12 students across the country to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the landmark Civil Rights Act through original art projects.EEOC’s 60th Anniversary Art Contest.
- All mediums accepted: drawings, paintings, photos, dance, songs, videos, poetry, essays, etc.
- Open to all students grades K-12 who are residents of the United States.
- Submit all entries electronically, i.e. clear photographs or scanned images of the art; for performance art, make a video or audio recording.
- Images, audio recordings, and videos may be accompanied by a written explanation of no more than 150 words.
- Submission Deadline: January 20, 2025

2025 Celebration of the Hands

This powerful visual will be the backdrop for the week and serve as a daily reminder to legislators and Capitol visitors that the future of our children is in their hands.
K-12 classrooms, families, colleagues,
and all children's advocates are invited to participate in this beautiful tradition. The artwork will be part of a statewide effort to deliver the message that every child should be healthy, ready to learn, and able to achieve their full potential.
