Level 2 Volunteer Information
-
Some volunteer roles require Level 2 screening, including when working with students unsupervised, outside the sight of a school staff member or another Level 2 volunteer. Examples include certain field trips or one-on-one mentoring/tutoring in closed spaces. Schools may also choose to require Level 2 clearance for all volunteers.
Level 2 screening involves fingerprinting through the FBI/FDLE and requires a Social Security Number. Before proceeding, please check with the school’s Family & Community Liaison or College & Career Readiness Coordinator to confirm if it’s required for the volunteer opportunities you are interested in.
Please continue reading for more information about becoming a Level 2 volunteer.

- Get your Level 2 Badge - Your school's liaison/coordinator will reach out to you with information on how to obtain your Level 2 badge. Level 2 badges must be worn when on school campuses or at school events.
Level 2 screenings are valid for 5 years. All Level 2 volunteers will need to be rescreened prior to/or after the 5 year expiration date if you wish to continue volunteering in an unsupervised capacity.
