Thank you for your interest in the Administrative Selection Process for Pinellas County Public Schools (POOL).
As an interested or current applicant, the process listed below is still the required process to become a school-based administrator in Pinellas County Public Schools.
Please read the Administrative Selection Process information below before you start your application for the Pinellas County Public Schools' Administrative Selection Process.

Principal Pool
Current Principal
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Former Principal within 1 year
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Current Assistant Principal
At least three (3) years’ experience as a full-time assistant principal
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Former Principal more than 1 year
• Eligible to apply for assistant principal pool only
*A candidate who does not meet these minimum requirements is not eligible to apply for the Principal Pool.
Applications will be reviewed for compliance by Human Resources and forwarded to Professional Development for approval. Professional Development will notify the candidate of their eligibility status. If eligible, Human Resources will inform the candidate of the process to apply for open positions for which they qualify.

Assistant Principal Pool
Eligibility: Applicants must be accepted in to the assistant principal pool before applying for open positions.
Submit all required documents to Human Resources for review prior to applying for an administrative position.
Current Assistant Principal
At least three (3) years’ experience as a full-time assistant principal
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Former Assistant Principal
Within one (1) year
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Former Assistant Principal more than one (1) year
Must successfully complete the Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Hernando, Manatee or Pasco County Targeted Selection Process.
Submit:
• Application and the following required documents:
- Resume and personal statement
- Documentation of Florida Certification (Statement of Eligibility)
- Documentation of completion of Florida Principal Certification Program (Level II or equivalent)
- Two (2) most recent evaluations (Must be effective or better)
- Minimum two (2) Reference forms (One must be from immediate supervisor)
Current Teacher
Must successfully complete the Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Hernando, Manatee or Pasco County Targeted Selection Process.

Yes, we review candidates and their qualifications all year-round.
I don’t know if you want to list the requirements to be eligible; here they are for external applicants only!
Candidates should upload the following documents to your online application:
1) Resume
2) Personal statement or cover letter
3) Florida Certificate with Educational Leadership or a Statement of Eligibility, Level II Principal Certification if applicable
4) At least two of your most recent evaluations, including school year and school district
5) At least two electronic references (these are submitted via email through the references section of your application); at least one must be from your current immediate supervisor
6) Any documents supporting your administrative pool status such as completion of pool requirements in another Florida school district, Level II Principal Certification, etc.

What is the duration period once becoming an eligible candidate in the pool?
Eligible candidates will be approved for 5 years. Candidates should reapply to the Professional Development Dept to remain active on our list.
When are AP and Principal Interviews?
PCS continues to hire and fill vacancies throughout the school year.
What should I do with the approval letter from the Professional Development dept once approved and in the pool?
Eligible candidates who receive an approved letter stating they are a candidate in the pool should upload the letter to the attachment section of their online application.
