FL DOE Renewal Application Tips
Review this information below as well as the information on the FL DOE website to avoid unnecessary delays and fees.
Renewal Application
This application is for teachers who hold a Professional Certificate, which expires every five years. Educators will complete a renewal application at the State and the district will verify the professional learning credits. Visit this page for more information regarding requirements.
As you prepare to complete your renewal application, keep this information in mind:
-
You can renew up to one year before your certificate expires.
-
Indicate that you have earned all necessary credits, and ensure you do so by June 30th, even if you have not finished yet.
-
You must have all points earned based on your certifications - not your current teaching assignment. If you fail to have the necessary points for any subject on your certificate, your entire renewal application will be rejected.
-
Do NOT attempt to remove a subject from your certificate in this application. That would be a separate application, which should first be discussed with your administrator, and must be completed long before your renewal application.
-
You must complete the Legal Disclosure page EACH time, and you must include all information, even if you were previously cleared.
-
Endorsements are automatically renewed with subjects renewed and do not require additional credits.
-
Our District affiliation is 52-Pinellas. Remove any old affiliations.
-
Do NOT attach transcripts. These must be sent directly to the BEC and do not need to be sent more than once.
-
After you submit your application and your renewal credits are verified, the $75 payment will be deducted from your paycheck. If you are not a Pinellas County Schools teacher, send payment of $75.00 as check or money order payable to Pinellas County School District to 301 4TH St. SW Largo, FL 33770 c/o Human Resources, Certification or use our online payment system.
*This fee is the educator’s responsibility for general renewal starting July 1, 2025. Any other application fee is the educator's responsibility and should be paid at the time the application is submitted.
